Have a great map you would like the world to see?
Well, wrap up a zip file with your map files which must include 5 things:

<map>.cfg
<map>.png
<map>.mpz
<map>.wpt
<map>.txt ---> This is the license and it MUST be included for the map to be uploaded.

It should read something like this:
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
This work, made by <Username/Alias> <email@host.com>, is licensed under the
Creative Commons <License type -- BY-NC-ND, Attribution-ShareAlike, etc.>
License.

To view a copy of this license:
1. visit http://creativecommons.org/licenses/<license type>/3.0/ or
2. read LEGALCODE.txt file found at /Licenses/<user>/maps/<map> or
3. send a letter to Creative Commons,
444 Castro Street, Suite 900,
Mountain View, California, 94041, USA.

Once you have done all of this, submit the maps to the gitremp@gmail.com -- I should be able to get the maps up within 48 hours, allowing time for review etc. If the map is incomplete, it is preferred that you withhold your submission until it is complete. However, if you wish to have it added for review, let me know and I will try to work with you.

The link to the repository can be found here:

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask below.

Also, if you have any questions about using a repository, please feel free to ask.

For a great repository subversion downloading tool on Windows, go to http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads.html . It is a very straightforward, easy to use program which will help keep you up to date with the latest maps for Red Eclipse.

I am currently on a Windows system, and I am only familiar with subversion software on this OS, if you use Linux and are more familiar with downloading subversions on that system, please shoot an email with a quick rundown to gitremp@gmail.com and I can fill in the details or include it below.

Thanks for your time,

Four30Six {l Wrote}:<map>.txt

maybe it should be license.txt or <map>license.txt just so you know that it is a license.

I've noticed most of the maps I've downloaded with licenses says LICENSE.txt. It does make it easier to know which one is the license but i think that if was <map>license.txt then I could just put the licenses in the maps folder as well as all the map data (because when I download maps right now, I usually just get the map data and leave the license in the folder).

Blah. Since I'm not around much anymore I guess this is dead and will stay that way until further notice. Guess a combination of lack of maintenance and lack of interest did it. If I had the time to maintain this I would... but I don't have too much free time anymore. To all reading this: Consider the REMP closed until further notice.

Its a shame too, I've been waiting for emails, but I can't, for legal reasons, uploads maps that do not have a license. Well, on the bright side, I learn how to create a repo.

Thanks Tristan. I'm still working on getting my system set back up. I've been pretty busy with work lately and I haven't gotten a chance to get the repository backend setup on this system yet. As soon as I do, I greatly appreciate your permission for the maps. qreeves still wants those licenses though, to protect both parties, which makes sense right?

Hey you're back! :D Nice to see you posting again. IDK much but I don't think the submission process could get any more streamlined. Those that don't want to share their email can submit maps by posting them in this thread anyway. Uh... I just lost my train of thought. Blah blah blah. Yay the REMP isn't dead!
