Thanks, TristamK. I will certainly give one of the maps a try that are listed in your third post over there.

Done... I picked, Diesel, and I greatly enjoyed the mere speed of this map.
Initially, the pushers in the last part seemed a bit random to me. But after some attempts beyond 13.5s, I realized you need to air dash to keep control of your flight.

About map from author :
When i started creating this map i created it map in a 1 hour for fun. But when i continued fixing A bugs on map I started adding more details to map. Also i globally change map by putting new textures and adding a beautiful particles at the teleports.


P.S. Without Damien's changes this map wouldn't look and be playable as good as now it is.

This topic will be like a archive with time-trial maps . In first post i will add links for all topics with time-trial maps .

As requested by Ballistic, I attach a video about time trial (testchamber). Note that the jumpy strategy shown here is fun to use, but not optimal. Skilled runners will pass this course in quite a different way and below 21 seconds, i.e. 1.8 s (!) faster.
I hope this topic is the right place for this, and that the compromise between video quality and file size is okay here.

I just realize that dmo files are actually much better for this purpose. We should start collecting some of them!

I would like to share some dmo files, as I think this will be much a better way to verify times than posting screenshots or videos.

To view a dmo file, open the console in Red Eclipse and load it with the /demo command (using the Tab key to auto-complete the filename). You can then follow the recorded game in spectator mode, i.e. left click to snap on the player and toggle between free rotation and first person view using the F9 key.

As stated somewhere in the forums, you can record a demo either offline or as server admin using /recorddemo 1 prior to starting a new game. /stopdemo creates a "demorecord" file, which you can rename manually or with /getdemo.

One thing that would be interesting to know: Will the next release come with physics updates or other changes that will render older dmo files unusable?


EDIT: The dmo files here only work with version 1.2. If anybody is interested, I will record some more on 1.3.

Thanks for putting my old files in a prominent place and for mentioning the tutorial as well.

It should not be a big deal to get current dmo files for most maps, preferably by better players

I just realize that we could use some simple scripting to get the best times for each map in real time from the logfiles of the forever pure time-trials server. Should be simple to do locally in awk or python. What do you think?

fptt is disappear for all i think .
I always interesting in adding new tings in time-trial . Also will be nice to see a fptt online too .
Time-trial and editing - only these things can keep me in RE.
P.S. Will be a nice to have a demo files . Also i can try to run a some maps on metalnet servers but i am not sure about time...

Oh, you are absolutely right here, the times are logged for the client logfiles, but not for the server - a pity. And thanks for hosting the fptt servers, it has always been a pleasure to visit them.

Also, for all who play time-trial i have good news. Now 2 time-trial servers is online. This a Eclipso Vermilio Server (brazilian server i think) and Frog's server : 100+1 time-trial.
Also sometimes you can see online a MY server with Temka's DeFRAG game mode. I suggest try it too.

Hi ballist1c.
It a bit hard to create a top 10 of maps because not all posted here and not all want say on which maps they play a most part of time.
At this moment like i can see the most popular maps : testroom 1 (in the future testroom 3 i think ) , sign and rox. Also Temka's "castle" can be interesting becouse this map have some cool stuff. Also some players like Port and Argo.
Iam preparing a time-trial maps pack v1.1 for 100+1 server. Also this pack will be posted here. In this pack 80% of maps a improved somehow (some improved a lot some no) and new maps added (most of them from cube 2)
