Hit sounds

Hey, I've tried to create some new hit sounds for you, because the old ones sound too much like a piano IMO. First I went for something distorted like Variant1, but then I thought a bit less distortion would be better (Variant2). I've already tested them ingame and it sounds pretty good. There are only two tones for each variant yet, but I can do more if you like them.

BTW can I still play online with custom hit sounds or will I get banned if I change the files? :?

You will not get banned. The game is moddable and changes like that are client side, untill i find a way to make them server-side on my server. They sound pretty good, but i don't like the second one in variant 2.

Thank you. I've been wondering why there are so many damage sounds. I'm playing with 3 different tones atm and I think that's enough. And do high tones mean less damage or more?

the high tone means you hit an enemy and the low tone means you hit a teammate.

Heh, I know the teamdamage sound. :) I meant the different sounds when you're hitting an actual enemy.

oh. well i'm not really sure. maybe its by distance, location of hit i.e. headshot/bodyshot, or flakdamage.

Nice sounds dude , keep the good work going on!
BTW, which programs do you use to create/record the sounds?

I found out that the different tones are by the health of the target.

Offtopic: why do you write everything in blue? That's annoying as hell, especially for people like me who use qsilver-night.

I also use qsilver-night and to be honest, deepskyblue is better for it, but harder for qsilver-normal people to see.

Haha that reminded me of everyone bitching at me when I write in all lime green :P
I don't know how people can use light themes...kills me eyes.

Anyway, on topic...
I like how the sounds are coming. Variant 2 I also don't like...the audio clips a bit, it just doesn't sound all that good.
Now, if you can get "Variant 1" to match all the other higher sounds, then I'd use this :P

Good start man, keep it up.
