BloodLust r2
by Joseph "ballist1c" Calabria + Matt "greaserpirate" Kalt

A collab that started a couple months ago, evolved into something I think we can both be proud of. This is the first version I will post; it is not quite done yet, a sloppy release to get the newest version out there for greaser to see. Still very much playable and votable online though ^^
Would like to add more models (banners, etc.) and finish texturing correctly. Map is still playable, however does not include waypoints, I have not done them before. Includes on 2way teleport & one 1way teleport. 4-8 players recommended.


Latest Version Update: Bloodlust r2
- Changed teleporter design
- Modified noclip, added aiclip to some lava areas
- Changed rocket placement
- Added ambient sounds
- Added a couple mapmodels
- Various texture cleanups

Played online a bit ago with 16+ people (insta DM) and it felt really good, people liked it! <3

Update: Bloodlust r2
- Changed teleporter design

- Added a couple mapmodels
- Various texture cleanups

no waypoints yet, i am aware texturing still needs work, clip as well

Map updated, might be finished now. (Depends on if Ballistic approves of all the additions/changes)

I've included bloodlust in SVN, unfortunately there are no waypoints for it yet. If you can get some made within the next 12 hours (before 00:00 UTC) it will be in the 1.4 release, otherwise I will have remove it from the rotations until 1.5.

What is the license intended for this map?

Just to note, it is ok to submit content and assign copyright to the RE Team instead, as I have noted in https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/ ... tributions .

And if you do not put an individual license on the content, this is the fallback default case.

I just wanted to make sure that you are conscious of that decision?
It's fine either way, as long as you are aware and ok with what it means.

Map is in SVN now, and will be included in 1.4. Phew!

Thanks a lot to greaserpirate for collaborating with me, putting up with my silly ideas and monotonous textures, i learned a lot!
Thanks to Rabidbutton for the last minute addition of waypoints
Thanks to arand for fixing licensing with me in IRC
Finally, thanks to all the nice playtesters who gave constructive criticism, and to those also who just enjoyed the map and put up with my bantering ^^


I know people poke fun at me for not finishing anything i say i will, but i have gone through a rough patch in school. I set infeasible deadlines to seem dedicated to the project, but sometimes it interferes with my work, and it's hard to find time. Greaser was great in being patient with my long silence and helping me out when i asked.

And although the map is in SVN, it still needs work. There are a couple lights to be added, and details to be refined.

Greaser and I will continue to bring you guys new content, happy fragging!

Congratulations ballist1c, greaserpirate, Rabidbutton and the testers, one of whom I had the honor of being. I will be sure to play the map in the coming next release. My thanks go to Quin for adding the map to the SVN rotation and arand for facilitating the acquisition license.

Sniper-Goth showed me that you can camp on top of and/or inside the support beams, so I clipped them. I also turned a possible camping corner (on the level above the rocks-in-lava place) into a curve.

submit it on the tracker ticket, or create one if there isn't one.
