Why did Red Eclipse fork from Blood Frontier?

Why did Red Eclipse fork from Blood Frontier?

Yay, another controversial thread!

Anyway, I was just wondering why did Red Eclipse fork from Blood Frontier? Apart from licensing terms, I don't see much reason.

Has anyone been there when the fork was started? Your thoughts?

The basic idea goes along the lines of this:
1. Quinton Reeves starts creating a game with this Blood Frontier guy who goes by the name "Acord"
2. The game starts to get a community
3. Quin allows the community a say in the project, and implements what they care about
4. Acord disagrees and eventually forces him to revert those changes (also known as "The end of Blood Frontier")
5. After an argument, Quin leaves Acord and forks Blood Frontier to become independent

There are more details, but this is pretty much the basic thing. I wasn't there, but I have heard enough to know this story.
Hats, Afros, wings and raptor feet. This game is showing progress indeed.

And I can add, after the split, Quin behaved with grace, while Accord was childish and stupid.

Quin's point of view: http://www.quadropolis.us/node/418 (First comment, I seem to recall something more article-like, but can't find it)
Acord's point of view: http://forums.indiegamer.com/showthread ... Postmortem

Basically, a major disagreement on design goals.

EDIT: replaced pre-fork with post-fork link
