README: Sign up for a supporter key

We have been using the auth system for some time now with great success to give people the feeling that they are part of the game they love; and now I want to take it a step further. There are so many creative and helpful people in the community that I would like to see them get the recognition they deserve too, as I have always said that money is not the only way you can contribute to this project.

Update: I'd like to trial open registrations for all recurring players. If you play Red Eclipse with any regularity and would like others to be able to identify you, ask away. Please make sure you can be contacted using this forum software, as I will be sending all requests through that unless you email me directly.

What I would like you all to do is, simply, reply to this topic with the name of a community member, other than yourself or someone who already has a key, that you think should be given a supporter key. I will collate the names, and if necessary, submit them to a vote to find the most valuable members of our community and reward them. Good luck!

Personally, this is my humble list:
TristamK - For all of his Red Eclipse mapping and sometimes even CubeScript "mods"
Evropi - For his work of keeping all maps up-to-date on the Red Eclipse wiki
Perhaps also Sinma for the work on translating Red Eclipse to French and the French part of the Wiki. Unfortunately, the translation work on the game has been mostly useless as there is no good way to translate the game, but even then, I think a bit of recognition wouldn't hurt, even if it's only appearing in this topic.

I may be forgetting some other people who deserve it as well, but these have been in the back of my head for a while now.

Edit: Oh, only one name? Errr... I think I'll go for "Evropi" then as he seems to be the most active member of the three.

Anyone with supporter level or higher is already allowed to suggest as many others for inclusion as they wish, so I will note them all :)

I don't know if Raiden is somewhre on the list already, but he surely deserves a spot too for all his mapping efforts, his acceptance of feedback and making some nice MekArcade maps to get the ball rolling.

The names I have in mind are:

SniperGoth - creating new map creations + texturing
Max Payne - creating new map creations + texturing
(No, it doesn't matter to me that they are part of >DOOM< Clan...seriously!)

EDIT: in addition, what about The_Xy of Blaze? He usually supports the game on #redeclipse and administers a few servers.

Well im always discovering and reporting map glitches/ bad clipping to TheLastProject, does that have any influence?
About texturing, i just started making textures, isn't a complete set yet.

I definitely second the motion for SniperGoth. Not only does he have a lot of interesting maps and great ideas, he's helped people both indside and outside of our clan become better mappers.

Also, do TristamK, Bonifax, and Temka have supporter status? I haven't seen them much ingame, mostly due to different time zones.

But that supporter keys, will be just for nomination or they will have some privilages as moderators/operators/admins/etc. Just curious, i have read the wiki, but as this will be kinda new, want to know if is going to be some changes :D

The "user" and "supporter" levels do nothing by default (although server admins can change that with variables). In the next release, you will need to have an account to vote certain stupid combinations (eg. Jetpack?). More on that at a later date though.

May I ask how you sent those invites? Because neither SniperGoth nor Max Payne have received any messages yet.

Or do you think about our suggestions before you decide who will get a supporter auth key? :?

Sent via the contact form on this forum; so it sort of depends on checking the email address you signed up here with. And for the record, Sniper-Goth has a supporter key and his name in the credits already. To answer your question though, yes it is done at my discretion.
