HOWTO: Copyright and Licensing for Contributions

Postby arand » 11 Feb 2013, 21:50

Hi,

I've written set of guidelines for Copyright and Licensing for Contributions over on the wiki. In an attempt to hopefully clarify the way we tend to handle this stuff in Red Eclipse, and provide an easy check-list with templates/exmples, and an overview of options for contributors doing the licensing bit for their stuff.

Note that the stuff on this page reflects my opinions and guesses (as I interpret the direction of the Red Eclipse Team), and what I personally tend to look for when I review licensing in Red Eclipse, it's not something that is set in stone, and neither is it valid legal advice.

If there is anything that is unclear, missing, wrong or in need of improvement, please feel free to add or suggest changes. Also note that the guidelines obviously doesn't cover more than a handful of basic cases, if there's anything that isn't covered and you are uncertain about, just ask.

In the hope that it will be useful
