Yep, XPadder looks alright but the oldschool Joy2Key is more of my thing. :)

This looks alright for Linux though I've never used it, as my gamepad has been bust for years anyway. I'm not really much into PS2 emulation anymore.

Anyway Joe, I wouldnt' recommend you play with a joystick or a gamepad. The mouse allows for much better accuracy as the mouse is tailor-made to exploring a 3D space. Two thumbsticks are far less convenient for the purpose. A mouse makes you a better gamer in the FPS genre. :P

Great, Quin. I have been putting off bugging you about this one for quite awhile. I know its only the implementing support of the controller, and it will be a while before the you get to troso rotation, but at least it's a start. Should I ticket these for MekArcade?

Perhaps strictly for an FPS, but once you introduce an extra rotation (mek torso, tank turret etc) a gampad works better, because the controller allow a simultaneous rotation around the 2 axis.

There are also older gamers, like myself, with wizened arthritic hands that find the gamepad easier. Maybe thats a new market, the 'geriatric gamer', Quin could do a special release, Grey Eclipse, where you play as an older person who gets to throw incontinence pads at young people, mellee them with your walking stick and finally fiinish them off with 'old person smell' bomb.

Seriously though, I know there have been a few special game controllers for disabled people, one of my old mechassault clan was a 'high quad', who had a specially modified xbox gamepad that he could use with moving his head. So joystick/gamepad support may enable more disabled people to play, which to my mind is a very good thing.

"geriatric gamer..., grey eclipse"...? Your humor chases all grey shadows from this forum. But I don't wonder myself, since you use a pic from the residents as avatar. Cheerfulness is always a good start. And yes there is a market, look at nintendo and their concepts. Since Japan has more and more older people and fewer youngsters, you'll have to be quick to leapfrog them. :D *still tickled pink*

(apart from the serious topic)

I'd probably ticket any engine level changes under RE.

Thank you Raiden, recognition in my lifetime, now I don't have to wait to die and get it posthumously. In preparation for the extensive MekArcade promotional program in 2013, I tried to make a paper mache eye ball head around a balloon, but every time it got almost dry it popped. Back to the drawing board....
