Hi everybody!

So, as discussed in a previous thread, we are having another Red Eclipse 1v1 (Duel) Tournament. I was going to host, but my location might not be so good for those in European countries. A good compromise would be 4rson's server, as it is in the UK and equally far apart. However, the date that the last tournament was on is dangerously close to the arbitrary date for 1.3 release. So - do we wait until 1.3, or rush the tourney now? If your answer is the latter, does August 20th sound good as a deadline? Let me know.

We can do both! I will try to be present for as many duels as I can, and commentation/frag movies/montages/etc. will commence - I will try to get the server demos released to the public afterwards

Well, it seems people (so far) want a welcoming 1.3 tourney. The arbitrary(note, ARBITRARY, we really don't have an official date) release date is August 24th. Assuming this is accurate (I have not heard otherwise), I will open registration a few days afterwards. I will make a different topic for the real tournament.

Best case scenario, the release should be out by the end of the month. I'll try to keep everyone apprised.

would also make for good feature testing and bug tracking, to a degree. You guys definitely need more gameplay videos, inpersona64 has some great vids on YT, but I'd really like to see more.

Thank you for the compliments. I do agree that more is always better. And if we do wait until 1.3 release, people will get their recorders on for this tournament and upload to sites, which in turn will get this game more popular because not only are people enjoying this game enough to want to share it with the world, the world may find this game interesting like we do and perhaps bring more traffic to servers.

I voted to wait until 1.3 mostly because it would be a great time to have the tournament, but partially because I'll have more time to play RE in September :/

I got it all set up

Cool. I just switched ISP's so I might be able to participate in this tourney if I can make some room in my (crowded) schedule...
