alternate smg reload anim

Here's how to make an alternate smg reload animation with files you already have:

1) open the file "redeclipse/data/models/actors/player/hwep.cfg"

2) on the line where it says

{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
md5anim "smg reload" "hud_smg-reload.md5anim" 10


replace it with

{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
md5anim "smg reload" "hud_pistol-reload.md5anim" 20


It's a simple adjustment, but I think it works really well.

Pretty cool. Now if only you could get the animation to actually pull the clip out and replace it with new clip, like in the actual pistol animation, that would be awesome :)

That is... actually really cool. The SMG is a tiny bit too big, but it still looks much better than the default anim, which is abysmal.

[backstory]I'm back for a bit before I'll be off again and I have a used computer plus new mouse (WIRELESS!) from a friend. I can play max everything, and it doesn't even look like the same game! This game looks awesome. Except for one (little) part.[/backstory]

Excellent little trick you found here. I'll be using it for the forseeable future. The smg anims are the only noticeable flaw that this game has at the moment. Everything else is amazing. This will definitely work until real smg anims get added.

(my 'new' pc isn't set up in my home yet, and my mobile device hates long posts. sorry for 2x posting (: )

A question: as long as we are swapping out animations, would you know how to replace the smg secondary fire/recoil anims with the plasma primary anims? Can the pistol primary anims be used in place of the smg primary anims?

...Great find, I never would have thought of this. :D
