Video Problems

Hello! I'm new to Red Eclipse and all, I just heard about it from a friend of mine whom I play a lot of games with like TF2 and such, and I noticed with medium-low settings on the game, it ran extremely fast on my computer to what I'm used to. (my computer was made in early 2005, to be precise), and so I realized I could do multiple things at once without having to close and re-open the game all the time, which every other game I have lacks. But when I alt-tabbed, everything on my monitor got extremely blocky and distorted to the point I couldn't see anything. I switched back to the game, and exited, and everything fixed it's self all right, so I thought maybe it was something to do with the game running in full screen. I put it to windowed, but the same thing still happened when I switched from the game to other pages. Except, that time, the monitor wouldn't switch back and my computer eventually crashed. Any help?

Without knowing anything about your system (hardware, operating system, video drivers, etc), we can't provide much help at all.

Ah, sorry. I'm not very computer savy, as you've probably guessed. =3
I'm using a Windows XP OS, and ATI Radeon Xpress 200 video driver. Was there anything else specific you needed?

You could try running in windowed mode. I can alt-tab with fullscreen, but it often takes 2 alt-tabs to get back to the game (Win7 64bit).
Quin: any chance of a borderless window mode?

I already said I tried windowed, but thanks for the suggestion!

Also, I'm thinkin that this is an old graphics setup but, make sure you have the latest drivers. You probably already do, and I'm sure you probably already checked. But if you haven't its always something good to look up. What's funny is that I used to have this exact same problem on my laptop (Core2Duo, GMAx3100) except it was on Blood Frontier. My problem was that the resolution was too low for fullscreen (I may have been playin in 320x240, don't ask -_-). I just had to raise the resolution a bit and then there was no crashing.

Used to have same driver.. just make sure you have the latest drivers installed. Never had the problem you explained so hopefully a newer driver will help.
