You may have noticed it, you may not have noticed it, but sometimes people complain about intermission (the part after a match ends where you select a new map or the server does so after 60 seconds) being bland and boring. I agree here. Today, I was being AFK from my computer for a while while having the Red Eclipse SVN Client open on Offline Practice, when intermission came. At this point, the SpecTV camera was still floating around, causing quite a nice moving background which makes the intermission period much less boring.
Please click here for a low-quality video recorded with the in-game recorder for an example.
(Believe me, it looks even better if you switch to /botbalance 0 before the match ends because the movement is more flued. At least, in my honest opinion. The first one would make more unique backgrounds though, as it bases the view on the player and affinity locations.)
(If you want to see it in higher quality, start an offline match using /overtimelimit 1 and /timelimit 1 on the SVN client and stay in SpecTV.)
The idea? Forcing players into SpecTV mode during intermission to cause a "dynamic background" while selecting/voting for maps.
I must honestly admit that I have no clue how much work programming this is, but it seems like a lot less work than many previous changes that have been made. Still, it's useless to make a change like this if nobody would actually like it so that's why I'm asking for opinions.
