Unofficial Red Eclipse SVN bundle

So, I made an SVN bundle, in hopes it might be useful for those not wanting/being arsed :p to install TortoiseSVN, but wanting to try SVN for whatever reason (close-to-release testing, bug checking, feature testing, etc.):

This is the unofficial Red Eclipse SVN bundle for Windows, it is designed to be able to download and incrementally update Red Eclipse from its SVN repository, and to run it without conflicting with another version.

To use it simply unpack it and:

  • To download/update Red Eclipse, run 'update_redeclipse.bat'
This will download Red Eclipse into the directory 'redeclipse-svn' or, if it already exists, update it to the latest revision
  • To start Red Eclipse run 'redeclipse.bat'
    Likewise for 'redeclipse_server.bat'
These are modified scripts which uses the directory 'home' to store the user data in
This allows using the SVN version of Red Eclipse in tandem with a standard release version, without effecting eachother

If you make modifications to the downloaded copy in 'redeclipse-svn', the update may fail, in this case, it would be appropriate to start using something like TortoiseSVN which can handle these complications in a point-and-click-friendly way.

TortoiseSVN should be able to use the existing redeclipse-svn folder as its checkout if you simply point it to this folder and reset the checkout url
correctly.

I hope it ends up being useful for someone.
If you have any problems with the bundle, bother me, and not the RE devs about it.

So, to simplify this, you made a wannabe SVN script that doesn't need to be installed or set up unlike TortoiseSVN? Well, perhaps it'll help someone (even though I wonder if someone too lazy to install and set up TortoiseSVN won't be too lazy to download this~)

Well.. I may have started with the intent of simply checking if it was doable, and then gotten somewhat carried away... :)

I've used TortoiseSVN in the past, but this is generally better for the average PC gamer. I'll be using this for now.

Bumping, but also my friend asked about playing the SVN (he's new to Red Eclipse) and I directed him here. I've been using this to test play SVN for the 1.2 release and so far, I haven't hit any snags or hiccups in starting it.

This bundle really does do everything for you, without the need of downloading any extra programs :)

Anyone who wants to try SVN, this is a good place to start.

With the directory structure change in SVN recently, the launchers in this bundle has stopped working, so here's a new version which should fix that.

Changelog:
0.3
* Remove -r from script as per upstream
* Update launchers to fit new bin\arch structure

New version 0.4

Changelog:
* Update scripts to fit SVN as of r5178
* Updated SVN to 1.7.8
* Added Neon source as required by LGPL
* Wrapped lines in README and added more TortoiseSVN info

I've also added a public repo for it also, since it's in git anyways, and heck why not:

arand,
I have used version 0.3 heavily in the past. I am downloading the svn through your version 0.4 attachment now. I will post back in the unlikely event that I have a problem, or just to give you a pat on the back. As you already know, many people benefit from this bundle. Again, I would like to thank you for your work.
Cheers
