Will RE work w/ next version of Sauer?

I've been hearing more and more about the upcoming Sauerbraten release(or at least about the current SVN version), and I was just wondering if maps on the new version will work with Red Eclipse.

I heard something about advanced skylight controls or something of that sort, also they have some fancy kind of remip that really boosts the speed of the engine, and a couple maps will only be for that version (Evil_Earth and Mbt12 are the only ones I'm certain of) , but I'm pretty sure they're going ahead with the new version, and I'm kind of worried about a big split happening between RE and Sauer. We have all the the fun gameplay, and they have all the fun maps- that's just the way it is.

I think RE has some pretty good maps. I think it all comes down to the gameplay tho, because different gameplay needs different maps. It's the reason you wouldn't put a Xonotic map in, say, a game like Team Fortress 2. lol

If memory serves, eihrul updates both games' engines.Also, I've seen almost all of eihrul's sauer commits in RE's commit log.

Yep! Eihrul works on the engine for both games, I only really do gameplay and other RE-specific things :)
