Out of 188 total forum topics, about 59 of those have been posted in September. Looks like things are picking up. That's pretty cool :)

I think it's time to start thinking about sub-forums. (Maps, Scripts, Competitions, etc) It's kind of painful to find things these days.

Is that possible here? Cause I figure if it is, it probably would have been started back when we were at 50 threads lol.

Indeed. I also think this is a good idea.

I've got a little experience with board organization as I'm Co-Founder of one, so here's my crack at it:

Development (discuss SVN revisions)
--- Development Progress (devs make a progress thread on development every once in a while. a lot of in-development game communities have a board like this, and I find it very nice, just to see where the devs are, what they're working on, upcoming features, goodies, etc. Gets the community informed, and can even be a way to mull over ideas/troubleshoot)

--- Suggestions/Ideas
--- Bug Reports

* Scripts & Mods * (this is a Category, not a forum)
Scripts
-- Customization
-- Extensions
-- Utilities/Tools

Mods
-- Gameplay
-- Extensions
-- Utilities/Tools

* Mapping * (this is a category, not a forum)

Discussion (Discuss RE Maps, Usermaps, and the mapping process, get help, etc.)
-- Mapping Help

Showcase (Share and present playable usermaps)

* General Discussion (misc. topics) * (category)

Red Eclipse (talk about anything related to RE)
Programming/Coding (general discussion about programming/coding)
Chit Chat (general discussion about anything)

--------------

[EDIT] Refined it a little. We want to stay away from Tutorial specific sections, (though not entirely) since a lot of information will end up on the wiki, tutorials included

It's actually the OpenDungeon forums which is on FGD. It has subforums. Boards can have an infinite number of forums and subforums, and subforums within those subforums, and so on. It's just a matter of finalizing a list for quin to give to the FGD admin to make it happen.

None of us actually expected the forums to get used, lol :P

I was thinking something similar to the forum I posted above (http://forum.freegamedev.net/viewforum.php?f=15):

Bugs & Feature Requests
Development (maybe & Mods)
Gameplay
Models & Graphics
Sound & Music
Mapping
Scripting
