Bad Admin practices

I hate to have to write this but what happened today was a bit ridiculous.
I was banned from the "gaming eveolved's house of pain" server for having low ping. Admittedly my ping was the lowest of the 7 playing at the time, but it was around 250 which isn't really that slow particularly given that I'm in Australia. It's not too jumpy on my end at that speed and it's not like I'm affected any differently than they would be, i.e. I get their messages at the same rate that they get mine.
Given my location the best ping I can get on any server is about 170 which rarely seems to be an issue. Would [GE7]chaotix not have me play at all simply because of my location?
I was given a warning 'fix your ping', but what was I supposed to do? move to another country? I mentioned that I was from afar but was given no response.
Is it just me or does anyone else aggree that this isn't really a fair reason to be kicked? If my ping was in the red zone, i.e. 400 or more, I would understand.
(To be honest I think he/she was displeased because the teams were skewed 6 to 1 and yet I still had the better frag rate.)
I love the game and this won't deter me from using other servers instead. I take my hat off to the developers who put so much time and effort into this.

Hey man, i'm behind you 100%. by the lowest ping, i assume you mean everyone else had ping of 250 or higher? in that case, he should have no right to kick you. In fact, he should kick everyone else, lol. Dumb reason for a kick. But anyway, redzone ping pisses me off. warping is a nightmare. you are always welcome to play in Wazu servers. Orbital's a nice person and doesn't really kick for people with high ping.

Sorry, by lowest ping I meant the worst. Some of these guys must have been sitting on the server because they had very low ping. But 250 shouldn't be an issue right?
Am I right in thinking if I was warping from their point of view then they'd have to all be warping from my point of view? or does it not work like that?
I wish the aussie server would update to the new RE version. Does anyone know what happened there?
I'd host one myself if I could get a permanent internet connection.

Well it sucks to live far away... but I can understand the issue. Everything above 150ms can be quite annoying in most games (but RE and Cube2 are a bit better in that regard).

Ah ok. Yeah it could get a bit annoying when ping reaches above 250, and yes, if that was your ping, they would warp and your shots would register later.

I wouldn't let it get to you, man. There are some people who abuse their admin powers. So if he wants to kick you just because you've got a high ping (like quite a few people who play RE, at least from what I've seen) then let him. Less players on his server.
Like InP said, you're always welcome to play with us on Wazu or any of Orbital's servers. ^^

Well, on Cube, Cube 2, and consequentially Red Eclipse, hit detection is all done client side. This means that if your ping is high enough, you might be shooting people who (from their perspective) aren't within your sites but they die anyway. This gets annoying around 400 m.s. + IMO. 250 m.s. is not a rediculous ping, and definitely not ban-worthy. This might be a left-over prejudice from the Quake 3 era of things when 1 player with a high ping would actually screw up the game. Most servers will not ban you for having a high-ping, I certainly won't :)

Oh yeah, I noticed that too actually. I could see WHY someone would ban someone for that, but I don't think it's that great of a course of action. Maybe a temporary kick or something, at the MOST.

Thanks, for the feedback guys. It actually seems I can play on that server again, must have been temporary.
It all seems silly now, I was having a bad day.
