=Weapons issues=

-Sniping-

1. When zoomed in, "sniping", the beam will often times hit surrounding environment that's way outside the reticule. I.e., I'm aiming between two bars with a VERY clear shot.. The beam will hit the bars 100% of the time because it is so big. Sniping is sometimes impossible because of stuff like this.
2. When playing against someone with a low ping (e.g., you have 150, they have 30) it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to hit them, especially if they are floating in the air. I don't know what it is, but my shots NEVER register when their ping is much lower than mine. I do not have this problem if theirs is the same, or higher than mine, I can shoot very well.
3. Sometimes sniper shots just.. miss. I'll be standing still, they'll be standing still.. their entire head is overflowing in my reticule.. I fire and.. nothing. The beam goes right through their head, and no hit is counted. If I fire once or twice more, it will eventually count as a hit.
4. Bullet velocity + player velocity?! It seems like rifle shots have horizontal velocity. By that, I mean, if I'm strafing and fire a shot, it looks like the shot moves right or left with me, away from the intended target. Or the game interpolates where I'm going to be, and fires the shot from there. Either way, when I'm on the move, my shots don't go very straight.

-Melee-

How the fuck does it work? Especially in instagib! It is broken. Frequently in instagib my kicks don't kill people. I have people tell me it's lag, or that there's a damage threshold (I have never not been killed by a melee though..), but I don't think this is the case. For example, I'm playing instagib, doo doo de doo, oh look, someone standing still!

I find someone. Standing still. There is NO way that a melee could miss. I run up. I hit them once. Kick noise, hitsound and reticule hit notification. They don't die. I hit them again, again I get the hit notifications. No death still. So I hit them a third time, and they finally die. When people say melee is not broken, I don't understand how that can be. If there's a damage threshold in instagib, does RE just randomly decide how much melee damage is done, because literally nothing changes between the 2 non-killing hits and the third one.

how CLOSE do you have to be? I'll be literally chasing an enemy.. inches away, pounding Q, and I can NOT melee them. I'll impulse into them, and can't melee them. It seems entirely random whether or not you can hit someone with melee.

-Plasma-

Sometimes you are WELL outside of the range where it pulls you in.. I'm talking 2-3 more plasma balls could fit between you and that thing, but it'll suck you damn near across the map and kill you anyways. Sometimes I take damage when I'm outside of the plasma too- or even worse- I get sucked straight into it and suffer NO damage. I just can't figure it out, it barely ever behaves consistently.

-sword-

Sometimes I get hit from 10 miles away by that thing. It's either lag, or the game just decides to let people hit you from far away with it. I've killed people from a real good distance with it too. I'm tired of getting killed from far away by one sword swing.

-Pistol-

This thing is beautiful, but make it hitscan instead and slightly less accurate at distance.

=Gameplay=

It has only happened to me probably 3 times, and I've seen it even less. Occasionally, I'll just slow down. It's like I'm moving slower than walking. I'm not holding ctrl, or zoomed in, my guy just needs to take a break or something. Impulse, jumping, moving all gets slowed or is lessened in intensity. I don't know why it happens, but it's rather annoying. Other players have seen it when it happened to me and asked what I was doing. I could not answer them, for I did not know.

Gameplay objectives are just stupid on some maps. Darkness, for example, is just retarded to play Defend the flag on. Good luck getting the flag- in the enemy's spawn. No matter how many you kill, they're respawning, with their seconds of invulnerability, right next to the flag. It's nearly impossible to cap it, and impossible to keep it. That's assuming you're playing with people that have any semblance of intelligence whatsoever (which is frequently not the case.) On some large capture the flag maps, you'll spawn way too close to the enemy flag. I understand this is a map-maker issue.. but it's even worse when you do bomberball....... and there's no ball or bases..

Bleeding and burning.. I just.. I just... They suck. They're too useful. They do too much. They just need to be removed or changed. First, they do 25+ damage. No matter what. If you get hit by one piece of shrapnel from a shotgun blast, or one tiny flame, you're taking at LEAST 25 damage over time. Secondly, they delay shield/health recovery. You have to wait an additional 5 or 6 seconds to take that minimum 25 damage before you can start recovering again. This is too disadvantageous for the wounded person, and too advantageous for the attacker. Need a heal? Spray them with a bit of fire, and hide, when your shields recovering, go attack again, because they just finished taking damage. If you're at 25 health, they only have to hit you with damage that causes bleeding or burning, and you are guaranteed to die. Bleeding and burning need to be massively overhauled- and the best solution I can currently think of is where the amount of bleeding/burning and the length is in direct relation to the damage you took that causes the ailment. Take 75 damage from the flamer? 9-15 burning damage over 1.8-3 seconds. Take 25? 3-5 damage over .6-1 second.

Teamkillers.. So many times some fucking idiot is teamkilling. I constantly see people going -50, -60, even lower than -100.. Some people do it on purpose. There needs to be a punishment for teamkillers. If you have x% of kills as TKs, you get kicked. if you have more than X TK's, you get kicked. If your score is below -X, you get kicked. If you come back and do it again, you get banned for a few hours. I'm sick of teamkillers coming on to the only server with people and ruining it for everybody.

There needs to be at least SOME type of basic cheat protection in place. I've seen people with unlimited impulse and speedhack. They were using very basic methods of cheating to achieve this too, they told me how they were doing it. It would probably not be hard for someone skilled to make god mode, high jump, teleport, or perhaps even a cheat to kill people at will, along with many other cheat. I do not think anybody has made aimbot or wallhack though. Not enough players for that yet.

tl;dr (too long; didn't read)
sniping's broken, melee's broken, sword's overpowered, plasma's buggy & pistol's too accurate.
needs: better maps, kick TKers, cheat protection.

I totally agree with you on this. I have noticed the same issues.

Ya do realize that the Variables menu is for that. I know frogteam has a server so just edit the vars on your server like we at HTN do daily and at request.

I guess a new topic wouldn't be wrong for this, most of the originally reported bugs probably have already been fixed.

Bug "reports" like this are totally useless to a game developer. How is it broken? Why is it broken? Why am I having to ask questions?

Lol i clicked on this topic and looked at the top post thinking "WTF"?? NOOO! But then I looked at the date and said "Oh." but anyway, motion blur is incredibly slight. Hardly even noticeable. Besides, I'd like to know why people are so upset over motion blur anyway.

But probably would be best to start new topic for this seeing as it was only made to make sight of previous "problems" from 1.0.

Yeah, I hope he's ok. Looking over his previous posts, it looks like he was posting 10-20+ times a week up until he disappeared.

Maybe he lost internet like I did, and wasn't as fortunate to have an occasional source like me :/
Happened to an avid frequenter of a forum I used to be on. Some 30+ posts every day for months, then just vanished. Turned out he lost internet because he moved or something.
These things happen. (case in point, me. Haven't had full-time internet access in 10 months and counting)
