Great, a new release. I will try to test it tomorrow and leave some feedback here.

My newest baby: a work in progress map, still in alpha stadium. I try to melt things from quakeIII, UT and Tron together here. I don't know whether I get it.
There is still much to do, like lighting, implement a special idea and more. I won't upload a version at the moment, because it will still change a bit. If you want to try it out, than please come to "Johnys server" and type "cutec", while voting for a custom map. That is the working title at the moment. I will upload the latest version there from time to time.

(Ps: After reading the head of the thread now: oops, well the map isn't finished yet, but playable and the biggest part is done.)

That indeed is looking spectacular raiden! Very nice work, I'm genuinly impressed when looking at the screenshots :)
Very much looking forward to try this out, but I tried your method of typing cutec and I only get the message "Everybody failed to get the map".

I guess that raiden is really feeling the pressure to finish that map now :D Too bad there are only 24 hours in a day to work in this map... ;)
But I understand that he prefers to polish it some more and add some lights to it, so that we immediately get the right feeling on the map. Even if it looks very nice (and I think we all agree this map looks f*cking epic), an unfinished map can be very frustrating to play on.

Hey, thanks for the flowers :). I didn't expect such a feedback. I'm sorry, that it did'nt works, just to try 'cutec' as a custom map on Johny's Server. However, here comes a link. I underline that this is only a kind of preview. Since I know that I have not much time for building at the moment and in the next two weeks, I can give you the actual version at least.
still missing until now:

_botpathes
_gamemodes except the obligatory dm
_updated effects (particles and their links)
_optimized playerstarts
_better environmentsettings ...

Well, besides what you're just said yourself, there is one thing I personally find annoying: the Rocket. I mean, how in earth am I supposed to get that thing? I've tried everything I could think of. And if I can't, new players won't be able to get it at all. What about making the thing below it a "jumppad" that either pushes you up or slowly moves you up? Just an idea, after seeing the awesomeness this map contains I'm sure you can come up with a much better solution. I personally disliked the yellow lines around the bottom of the yellow "middle" platform, but I guess that's up to personal taste and that's too minor to make a fuss about.

But I must say, it looks stunning. It's, without doubt, the best-looking Red Eclipse map so far and quite clearly shows what this game is capable of. Should definitely playtest it once to see if any more final tweaks are required, but I'd love to see this added to Red Eclipse. It both fits the artstyle and looks beautiful.

Well, thank you for playing, - there is that square under the pyramid. If you fall down the platform, you'll be ported back to the level instead of be killed. This way, you'll get the launcher. I wanted to make the map a bit more tricky and interesting or mysterious, but you are right, telling me such things. They have to be tested and new players should also have the chance to find the way to play. I will collect more feedback about this topic over the time and we'll see :) ... . A secound way to the opposing base is also a bit hidden. ...

Already found that, wasn't aware of the jumping platform below the middle though. Thanks for explaining that :P

I love texturing on this map.

The jump pad "warp" particles are also very nifty.

Can I suggest something for cutec, Raiden? You can fall to the bottom rung around each of the red and blue zones. It is right above where the bottom begins to bevel. However, right now, you can't get back up. I think you should be able to get up at the front of the rungs facing the neutral area. I also suggest that if you run all the way to the back of the rung, that you can go in a tricky portal to a far-away inconspicuous platform (meaning no upside-down pyramid base) that you can snipe off of with a small glass set of shields you can stand behind and reload.

Yes you can :). Although actually the main layout is finished. I'll think over your idea, but I can't promise anything. Such a map is a bunch of work, which costs much time. So please feel not disappointed, if I can't regard each suggestion. I will update the map sometimes and maybe I can realize something, but this could require a longer period, because I'll have fewer time in the future.
