LanPower FLOSS FPS compilation features Red Eclipse

Postby Sinma » 27 Jul 2013, 00:14

Hi,

The association LanPower makes a compilation of FLOSS FPS, featuring Red Eclipe, along with FreeDoom, Xonotic, Nexuiz Classic (before the fork Xonotic) and OpenArena!

That means you can now buy a DVD with Red Eclipse on it! I hope more players come to play with us! ;)

Great news, isn't it?

Edit: link.

That's pretty neat... got a link? I can't seem to find these LanPower people!

A good selection of games as well. Not sure why they included Nexuiz Classic, but it's a good selection nevertheless. :D

Stupid error, now fixed.

Instead of one game, we have two : Xonotic is more and more different from Nexuiz.
If a lot of people are interested in, we can translate the compilation (DVD) in several langages like the "LANPOWER GAMEKEY light Série 2.1 international" http://asso.lanpower.free.fr/index.php? ... &Itemid=59 (five langages).

I havn't play Nexuiz since 2 or 3 years, and sometimes I play Xonotic. But Xonotic isn't a better Nexuiz?

Thank you for choosing Red Eclipse! ;)

Eh, I would have put Tremulous or better yet, Unvanquished there myself, but fair enough. :)

"But Xonotic isn't a better Nexuiz?"
I can't answer to that question really. I am not a FPS hard core gamer. I have given the DVd to the members of the association for testing. No return yet.

Well I and the http://www.jeuxlibres.net team have deeply read the licence conditions, and we found some no totally free FOSS materials in Unvanquished . That's why it is not in the collection.

Yeah, that is a fair call. Unfortunately so many open source games still suffer from this affliction.

Someone on Linuxfr tells that many people continue to play Nexuiz, so, according to him, it's a good reason to add it on the DVD.

Yep, Xonotic is the rebuilt, much much improved Nexuiz successor :)
