Game directions for passing/scoring/shooting

Game directions for passing/scoring/shooting

Postby Dratz-_C » 18 May 2012, 00:22

Hi,
If it fits within the space economy for text directions, I think it might be a good idea to add how to pass (and score/shoot) in bomberball games. I often have to tell folks how to do these tasks in bomberball games. Sometimes they are on the opposing team, which makes me wonder whether other competitors always help in the same situation. What do some of you folks think?
Cheers

Red Eclipse already shows this information when "shownotices" is at its default value (3). It should read: "You have: (o)bomb" .. "Press F to throw". People just don't (or can't) read it.

Any way to make the server Motd larger and centered in the screen? Also, a /gamerules could be a nice addition which has defaults for different game types ( controls, objectives, etc. which can be configured in servexec.cfg) and options to configure new ones for mutators and variables, etc. Just and idea.

Maybe revise "f to throw" to "hold f to pass, tap to throw/shoot"? Also, for vanilla games, "run the ball into the opposing goal."

I would personally vote for:
Press F to throw
Hold F to pass

Below each other, like that. But yes, that would make things clearer.
Hats, Afros, wings and raptor feet. This game is showing progress indeed.

I think I'll do a tutorial about that, sooner or later
