in-game res on 1.2

in-game res on 1.2

This question probably only refers to me but I was wondering, was anything optimized for 1.2? What I mean by this is I was playing on SVN on my normal settings (everything on high with shaders OFF) on 640x480 and the fps is somewhat between 60 and 75. Now usually I don't mess around with the resolution but I decided to just play around with it for a bit to see if I could get anything larger. Now in comparison to 1.1, when I played on 800x600 i saw a noticeably small difference in FPS. In 1.1, 800x600 on my settings is like 30 to 35 at most but when I was playing on SVN, it was 40 to 50. Same settings, same resolution. I tried this on different maps (apart from Dawn) and got the same result. There was always at least a 10 to 15 fps difference. So I thought I'd ask. I'm not sure if it's something small that is different in 1.2 graphics-wise or if Windows finally updated my OS with something that is actually helpful (yeah, and I'm Superman).

There has been quite a lot of optimisation going on in SVN recently; The way geometry remips and renders has been improved. Waypoints have been tossed out of the entity array into their own optimised structure, resulting in faster searches by the AI. Many bugs have been fixed in the game code and AI that resulted in poor performance and "hammering". That's all I can think of off the top of my head, there's likely more.
