I apologize for "replacing" your levels. But I like Jonathan's idea and I would totally agree with having that, I think it would be great.
Oliver_Buo {l Wrote}:by the way VNS make a great job - but it's no more longer my level then.....
I tried not to change too much, but I felt like some tiles were in the "wrong place" and also you often used tilemaps that are really hard to loop for me. I tried to decorate the levels as much as possible. The best similarity I could do in this style was the gameplay, really.
Mainly in some places the tiles were tricky to loop, like I said earlier. Another point is the levels didn't exactly fit a very good storyline in my personal opinion, so I tried to change it.
On level 0 I didn't have the idea of the new style so I was just fixing the tiling issues.
On level 1 I thought the tiles didn't fit a very good forest style, it was more like a snow/forest labyrinth before. So I tried to fix the level to fit the background more.
On level 2 I felt like some areas in the level didn't fit other areas of it, so I changed it into a crystal-cave themed level and at the bottom was a fiery place.
On level 3 I didn't feel the castle blocks fit the theme of a night-time level. So I continued on the crystal-cave theme a little bit, and mixed it with the snow. I thought that fit better for the level.
On level 4 there was quite a few tiling issues and a forced hit in one part. I added fog to give more "gradient" to the level. I also tried to keep the level sort-of like a labyrinth, but that turned out to be a haunted forest, a sky-tower, a stormy snowstorm, and a mountain.
On level 5 I tried to change it to an entry to the castle (As for level 6, upcoming soon) and such a stormy level. I never really "saw" the "leaves.png" file so I thought it would be nice to use it.
I'll be sure to remove the fog from the levels (I might keep a tiny bit of it and put it in the background instead)
Also trying to fix some spelling mistakes.
So.. that pretty much covers what I have to say.. for now...
