Serano's old Forest

Hey,

I had some unexpected free time over the weekend and thought: "Let's start a new project!". ;) It's based on the worldmap which I originally made for the "Forest Worldmap Contest", but I think it fits better as an add-on with some levels created for it. I'm planing more or less 28 levels for it, which will soon be released here under the license GPL 2+ / CC-by-sa 3.0. :)

Some new impressions. I tried something different and made an mainland instead of the typical islands. ;)

Nice! Seeing that first screenshot, I think we desperately need some variation in the forest worldmap tileset! (I mean: More tile graphics)

The worldmap looks really good. But you should cover the black areas on the worldmap.

Would it be possible for you to add an English po file for the translations that I can check into transifex? Otherwise, I'll have to do the DE-EN translation myself.

How do I make an po file? Is there an instruction available?

Because it fits to the theme of the level. :) Party. ;)

What I mean is: Please write your level names in English. German po files can be created from transifex (and you can help translate if you feel like you want to have a say in the German translation).

Oh sure, I can do that. The german titles are just a place holder. :)

I'm not sure if I should make an really dark level. The problems are still: If it's bright enough, the earth flower is useless. But if it's really dark, one hit and you're blind. In my current level, it's just an labyrinth, with only a few traps, no enemies. Some thoughts?

You could place a few light sources (For example torches), so you're able to see something, even if you do not have an Earth Flower. And you should also have a light sources near a trap, so you can't see the trap itself, but you know where maybe a trap could be located.
Otherwise it would be a bit unfair that you don't know where the traps are.

That's what I thought. I placed some dart traps, too, simple because you can hear them shooting. Thanks for your suggestions!

I think you should make the level a little more lighter, but not light enough to clearly make out things.

Wow, looks awesome! :) I wish I could make levels like that! When are you going to release this to the public? :)
