Forest World Spiky

Forest World Spiky

I was browsing through the SuperTux GitHub repo, and found this from Projects > Forest World Overhaul;

So if we're leaving the Spiky and not replacing him with the Igel, what would be inside instead of the snowball?
I'd be happy to help create the new Forest World spiky.

But I think it's better to have a forest variant of spiky, because the current spiky just doesn't fit into a forest, imo. Also Jumpy got one, so why can't Spiky have one, too?
(btw I don't think an air conditioner would prevent a snowball from melting)

Looks like there could be a suitable version if the Spiky for the Forest World: https://github.com/SuperTux/data/tree/master/images/creatures/tumbleweed
Image -> Image -> Image -> Image [loop back to first frame]
It can be applied as a skin for another enemy, most suitable for the Spiky, though no other frames other than what I listed currently exist.

I think these sprites would fit more for a forest variant for jumping snowball

So what could be changed in the Forest Spiky?

BlasterMaster, concept art (and if that's good some more art) is welcome!

Looks good to me! Do you think it should have the same properties as the normal spiky, or different actions for its environment (asking for the code part)?

Feel free to start working on that!

(And by the way, you might want to reply to that email I wrote you via the forum mailing thing, I don't know if you've seen it already.)

Thanks. I will work on the sprites. But I'm not a coder. And no I didn't see it yet. I'm still a little new to this forum.

I like it, too. Since it's much smaller in-game, I think the spikes should be clearly visible, e. g. with a metal look. Otherwise it could be confusing why it hurt.

That's why I'm going to make them red tipped. Also, I'm making the spikes bigger on the actual sprite.

What do you think of this as a sprite? Any more changes before I start working on the animation?

BlasterMaster, the sprite looks quite okay. I'd make the spikes more red though.

Also, I mean your standard email (the email you used to sign up for this forum), not a special forum feature.

Thank you for comment. Modifications will be made.

Oh, right: regular e-mail. Gotcha. Some other boards have built-in e-mail for chatting. I was under the impression I had missed where the "in-box" was located. :D Okay, I'll take a look at that immediately.

Thanks for the heads-up.
