The problem there is the fact that the level can become unfairly easy or hard to pass, and for stuff like speedruns would be a pain.

Will Milestone 3 (0.5.0) be released before 2038-12-30 and will it contain Penny as playable character or she will be removed along with intro scene just like 0.3.0?

That old cutscene was removed in version 0.1.0 (Milestone 1) or maybe before that, not 0.3.0. I haven't even been able to see it (those really old versions of SuperTux didn't compile on my system when I tried to do so). I wouldn't even know about it if someone on the mailing list hadn't mentioned it years ago.

Also, Milestone 3 will be 0.6, not 0.5.

So, the 0.5.0 will be really a bugfix release with built-in editor and misc changes? Will Forest World be included as main world in 0.5.0?

I feel like the community could get more involved with the game. There's currently a worldmap contest, so why not have a level contest? Both Icy Island and the Forest, could do with some better levels, and if plans are ever made for a third world, it would also speed up the progress to get the community to make levels.

We could have a level contest after releasing 0.5.0 to showcase the new editor and as an excuse to get everyone to test.

icy island is fine as is

only level that needs to be removed is a Path in the Clouds. playing it is worse than being waterboarded

Why? :? I like that level, it's a bit of a challange when you're new to SuperTux but if you've been playing different SuperTux levels for sometime now you'll understand.

the last part is just horrible, especially when you're bigtux. and it's not a case of me being new either, i've been playing for over 10 years now

Maybe adding a power meter? I drew some concepts for the meter and ideas on page 2 of my "custom sprites" thread.

I agree, the last part is difficult to pass as bigtux. I can change it so you can do the jumps, even when you are big tux.

My issue with a power meter is that then you have limits to powers, which I personally don't care for.
Some people are like slinkies... not really good for anything, but you still can't help smiling when you shove them down the stairs.

The power meter doesn't limit regular powers like fireballs,
But adds a super as well, like fire breath. I drew some concepts on my custom sprites.
