Hey everyone,

want to get a preview of what's to come in the next version of SuperTux? We got you covered now:

Thanks to maths22, you can find recent SuperTux snapshots here:
http://download.supertuxproject.org/download/

Please note:
These snapshots are rather recent developer versions that might potentially contain severe bugs and untested features. You're using these at your own risk! We (The SuperTux team) are not responsible for any damages to your computer, your hard drive, your cat, your lawn mower or your sanity!

If you want to report bugs, please do so against our github repository which you can find here:
https://github.com/SuperTux/supertux

Thanks in advance and enjoy the very, very early releases!

I cannot get them to work. I want the windows one in Wine, but Ubuntu doesn't work either.

Is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rh9lJc8sWQ the fault of the Nightly builds?

brmbrmcar {l Wrote}:Is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rh9lJc8sWQ the fault of the Nightly builds?

It was most likely my computer, and if it is the fault of the nightly builds, it would've been on me, as I am not using the latest nightly build.
This sentence is true, or is it?

No, I think it is https://github.com/SuperTux/supertux/issues/458. Try an upgrade.

With the last update I receive the following error: "$ supertux2
[WARNING] /usr/src/packages/BUILD/src/supertux/main.cpp:188 Couldn't add 'share/games/supertux2' to physfs searchpath: not found
[FATAL] /usr/src/packages/BUILD/src/supertux/main.cpp:510 Unexpected exception: Couldn't open 'images/engine/icons/supertux-256x256.png': not found"

I'm using Debian 8 (Stable) 64 bit
I hope this is the right thread in which to post this kind of messages. If there's a better thread, please let me know. :)

As a workaround:
supertux2 --datadir=/path/to/data/dir/

Also, please file a bug on github.com/supertux

The links on that page no longer work for me (been trying for a few weeks now but no change). Every build I click goes to a page that just reads "Forbidden!". Are the nightlies no longer available?

Sorry, we had to disengage nightly builds because, afaik, we were running into space constrains from bintray.

That's unfortunate; I always liked to try out the new changes as they came out. I had tried to compile from source on my Mac, but ran into dependency issues. I'll have to give it another try!

There are still nightlies for macOS: Go on https://travis-ci.org/SuperTux/supertux, find the latest build on the "master" branch (changes are built upon uploading, if there hasn't been a change a build will happen once a week). Go to the bottom of the log and it will provide you a download link for a dmg on transfer.sh.
