SuperTux Ingame Level Editor

If you remember, there used to be an ingame editor in SuperTux 0.1.3, but was removed and an external editor was made instead. What I'm working on is a new ingame editor.

Why?
Supertux 0.1.3 had and ingame editor and it was saying the players one important thing: It's easy to make a level. So many players were making levels for Supertux, so it became quite famous. The external editor has tendency to get outdated. It has been up-to-date with official Supertux releases only once, in 0.3.0. After that it has been up-to-date only with svn and git unofficial releases. What is more, it has problems with running on Windows platforms.

It must be unpractical...
I'll do my best to make is as practical it could be. However, it's still not the end of external editors. The 0.1.3 editor wasn't as practical as the 0.3.0 external editor, but it was still easier-to-get and forced the players to make at least one level. It should make Supertux famous again, even a bit more, because of the scripting stuff, that comes with a lot of new possibilities.

It must be hard to code...
Noone forces you to help. If you think that I haven't done anything for it, you should know that I've already commited more than 11,000 lines of code for it. And you can also test it if you think that I've created the screenshot by a graphical editor.

The ingame level editor has been released within SuperTux 0.5.0. You can post here a feedback.

Very good. It would be better if it looked less 0.1.3, though. I mean the translucent white parts.

Nothing much has changed, also due to that I work also on other parts oof SuperTux those have higher priority. I was mainly fixing stuff and adding more editable properties.

Update:
New features have been added since then.
  • A grid that can be toggled by F8
  • Right clicks now work normally.
  • Create new sectors, levels and levelsets!
  • Area objects can be now resized.
  • Paths are now editable. Add, delete and edit path nodes!
  • Select more tiles at once! Includes a pattern-filling mode!
  • Changed level navigation, there's a scroller that is more comfortable to use! (F9 to hide it)

1. From the start, it should have all tiles showing.
2. The buttons for tiles should be next to where the tiles or objects are.
3. There should be a guide, as things like editing objects takes figuring out.
4. When a bonus block is set to custom, allow the user to specify the custom content in the editor itself.
5. Allow users to edit the Story Mode levels.

Also, separate default.nut files or whatever don't work.

I have a question.
Where can I change the size of a level?

For now you have to change the size of each tilemap separately.

Right-click on each tilemap and that's where it is.

Right-click on the "background" icon in the layer/tilemap bar at the bottom. You can then change the background.
