Hiho,

as some might already know, I am planning on releasing a new
development snapshot of SuperTux somewhen before Halloween. To make
things a little more interesting, that one will include a new
worldmap, a new tileset and enemies featuring a Halloween theme. The
graphics are now mostly done, outside of a bit of polishing and there
is a single test level along with the worldmap under "Contrib
Levels->Halloween 2014" (this is not meant to be playable). Enemies
are just sprite-swaps, they are done as well.

I plan for around three to five levels for this worldmap, so if
anybody wants to contribute a level, now would be a good time to start
building it.

As style guide:

* only Pumpkin(snowball) and the FatBat(bouncing snowball) are allowed
* levels should be somewhere in the range of 700 tiles width
* a bit of verticality couldn't hurt, nothing super tall, but 40 tiles
height or so might be good
* no/minimal scripting
* no switches, triggers, puzzles and other complicated stuff, just
straight up jump'n run

If more graphics or enemies are needed, send me a request.

Other things that need to be done:

* find some Halloween related public-domain/CC-by-sa music

On the coding side:

* collision detection in SuperTux is really slow, needs an Octree or
something for speedup
* graphics on the worldmap are really slow as well, not quite sure on
that one, maybe to much texture switching

...and where the editor for Linux? Can you at least post some screenshots from the tileset?

level editor that supports Halloween objects

You just need the standard level editor (or flexlay) and a recent build of SuperTux (from git) with Halloween tiles included.

I am going to release the thing on the weekend, so if anybody has some levels left, send them in soon.
