[music] timong's Patreon to license CC-BY-SA 4 tracks

Dear FreeGameDev'vers

You might know me from long ago, grinding for the open source game community since 2008. Released a heap of CC-BY-SA soundtracks for games on Jamendo.com.

Ever since that I'm polishing my portfolio and stretching the boundaries of my music and quality.
I've created a heap of tracks all with the greatest care and highest standards of production.

I've decided to set up a Patreon project to free those tracks that are already ready to be licensed. It's a kind of experiment if it's an effectively working model to rely on community power in this and meanwhile providing the open source community with CC-BY-SA.

So I decided to start with a first step, trying to reach a reasonable $150 dollar per track to free the track under CC-BY-SA once and forever (will upload it to Jamendo and opengameart)... You can read the details and if you think pledge here:
http://www.patreon.com/pzi

The first track to be freed if Goal is reached is this one:

I know it's not exactly the best model around here to ask before giving, but check my Jamendo profile, if you're curious what I already gave http://artists.jamendo.com/en/artist/Pal_Zoltan_Illes

Thank you for your patience.. I'll keep on jamming, hope you join! :-)

Best of luck with that! $150 per track seems a bit steep, but yeah probably a realistic amount of money after all ("race to the bottom" is not exactly the greatest thing).

thank you :-)
$150 indeed may seem to be much, but I'm offering a lifetime open source piece of music for anyone to use. I'm trying to see if there's enough of a crowd fund power in the open source game development regarding music... it's more of an experiment... music is undervalued these times, it's a luck that I don't rely on it for a living... its a hard earned living... so artists keep experimenting how it can be feasable.

I really hope there's power in it. I've succeeded once earlier for another such effort related to music and opensourceing, but it was much time back. :-)
