Free music for non-commercial projects

Postby SLL » 11 Mar 2014, 03:55

Hi,

My name is Jan Glembotzki.
For the last 10 years I've been working as a film composer, and I have provided music for documentaries, feature films, musicals and organizations/companies such as Sony, PETA, and The National Geographic.

On http://www.songsfromthelostland.com I do offer a constantly growing collection of free music meant to be used in your non-commercial projects.

Being a veteran roleplayer, I always wanted to provide music for a computer game. http://www.songsfromthelostland.com is meant to give an impression of my skills, and in case you like what you hear: Hire me and get some first class music tailored to your needs.

Though the tracks on my site are more on the Fantasy side, I'm planning to start a new collection soon, focussing on Sci Fi/action.

Feedback is very much appreciated.

Best regards
Jan

At first, I want to say that after listening to some of your song, I like them and will certainly use them around my table.

secondly, I'm sorry to say it, but here «free» is «free as in free speach» not «free as in free beer» and «non commercial use only» is in contradiction with the meaning of it.
If you want to help the FLOSS community without fearing the «stealing» of your work (ie: privative project using it commercially) you can use (for exemple) creative commons «share-alike» ( https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ )licences witch allow commercial use but forbid restricting freedom of the public (and, in most case, the result is really close from a «nc» one).

Anyway, thanks for sharing it.

regards.

Hi webshinra,

Thanks for clarifying that. I think I'll make some of my tracks available for commercial use then. Actually, the website is intended as a kind of giant demo thing, and I thought
that making the tracks available for non-commercial use might be a good thing. But I get your point.

So, as that Austrian guy once said: I'll be back...
