Is it possible to combine texture mask and normal map?

Hello. Unity3d.
Is it possible to combine the normal map and texture (which I use for the mask)?
As far as I know, normal maps use (RG) texture components.
Then (BA) are free and something else can be transferred to them.
For some reason, Unity uses a separate texture format for the normal map.
My question is, is it possible to write in (BA) a texture that is not a normal map?

Sorry, but this is an open source game dev forum. You will not get much help with closed source Unity3D questions here.

But in general terms, if I understood your question, then that should be possible but no idea about Unity3D specifically.
