Levels for the default levelpack

Levels for the default levelpack

Postby Edward_Lii » 03 Jan 2012, 11:20

Hello all,

I've started working on levels for the default theme, made nine so far.
They are available as a levelpack using the addon manager.
You'll need the latest revision(r158) for the level "Quick Swap", when using a swap your recording isn't cleared anymore.

Note that the order is random and that the levels may or may not be used in the default levelpack of V0.2.

Feedback is welcome! :)

Hello all,

I've added three new levels to the default levelpack.
And thanks to acme_pjz I've fixed some levels (Sweeper, Spiky Travel) ;)

Can I post my custom level in this topic? This seems to be a level-related topic  ?
You can put it in the default levelpack if you want to do so.

are there any guidelines or anything for making levels? sorry if this isn't in the right place.
Some people are like slinkies... not really good for anything, but you still can't help smiling when you shove them down the stairs.

Hello ctdabomb,

ctdabomb {l Wrote}:are there any guidelines or anything for making levels? sorry if this isn't in the right place.

The goal is that the wiki will contain all information regarding Level making.
Currently it's not that much, almost nothing:
http://meandmyshadow.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Category:LevelMaking

I recommend that you try to either make the level a puzzle, or a skill challenge.
Don't make it too big, if it's large add some checkpoints along the way, preferable after hard parts.
Try to make the goal of the level clear, (e.g. direction to go, where the finish is.)

Good luck! ;)

Good to see you made a level, but I'm not sure it fits in the default levelpack.
It's quite hard, and it took me several tries before succeeding.

If you like I could add it to the addon manager as level?

I did some testing (again) ... It's way to difficult. I'm going to change that.
Thank you for testing :) !

I've tried to make it easier, but it just didn't work. I would like you to add my level to the addon manager.

Done, it should be in the addon-manager now.
Thanks for making the level. ;)

BTW, if you want me to upload a new version just ask.
