Since i'm a huge fan of Stargate. And i need to make a portfolio. I thought that i would make something with Stargate!
So, what i'm blabbering about here is, i want to work with someone to make a small indie game! So if your interested just comment!
(I haven't actually begun anything at all yet. Since i want to work in a group of people.)

I myself know how to map, with these engines. Source SDK, UDK, Cryengine.
I know the basics of C# aswell. Also i'm trying to learn how to animate through tutorials i find online.

Neither do you seem to propose making a FOSS game with an FOSS engine, nor is it advisable to create a game based on a propitiatory theme.
E.g. this is totally off topic for this forum, sorry.

I don't understand why everyone always want to clone a specific theme or story, because if you really want to put so much effort into it programming a whole game, you could easily find time developing your own story. Developing the story is the least complicated part, everyone can do this.

I have to disagree with Duion saying that it's easy writing a story - I personally find difficult putting together a story or a theme which can be interesting. Still, I see no point in reusing a known theme - especially if proprietary, which I guess could cause legal problems too - for the game would lose a bit of the originality and style which has always charaterized quality indie/FOSS games. I would suggest going with a sci-fi original theme, if you like the genre...

You can mix up existing elements and call them different, hollywood does it the same way, this way you have something new, but at the same time the cool things you want to have from storys you like.

Like merging Pocahontas and the Smurfs?

With stargates please.
