I've just written a fun little thing about video games and word size after I saw someone recently who apparently still thinks the Dreamcast is 128-bit. Probably won't reach its intended audience, but oh well, it should be a fun read anyway. You can find it here if you're interested:

You didn't mention two's complement when discussing range of values of integers. C++ up to C++17 allowed ones' complement and sign+magnitude integers. I'm pretty sure C still does (as of C18).

Interesting! Thanks for pointing those out, I've added a paragraph and tweaked the final paragraph a bit.

Two's complement wasn't mentioned because it's not an essential point to the article, but I've added a small note mentioning that.
