I made a webcomic about computing, power, stupidity, ...

I made something wonderful! :)

Let me present my first ever webcomic: Nose Ears!

It's about all sorts of things that interest me: freedom, unjust power structures, queerness, stupidity, copyright ideology, and more. Free software is also a topic, although I currently only have 2 comics about that so far. I plan to add more because I think the Internet lacks some good FOSS humour … :p

All comics are short and simple like that.

This is a derivative work of another webcomic, of which I reuse the character drawings, but the stories are all original. See the Credits for details.

The website was made with Hugo, a FOSS static website generator.

That having said:

Start reading Nose Ears here. Enjoy! ^_^

Pretty cool, although reusing the characters from another web-comic might get a bit confusing especially if taken from (I guess) a controversial author like Nina Paley.

Wooow, I am loving the Jenndra Identitty Comics, thanks for pointing them out. I love Nina even more now.

Your comic is also nice! Thanks for sharing them as free. Just note that the GNU head (and possibly many of the portrayed logos) have their own licenses, they're not public domain, even though this is probably fair use so you don't have to comply with them.

Abolish all IP laws. Use CC0. Let's write less retarded software.

I will probably post one day why exactly I think Jenndra sucks (on a separate webpage/blog/whatever). But not sure about that yet. These jokes work as long you know nearly nothing about the subject matter. But as soon you have been exposed to information which are a little bit more sophisticated than Apache Attack Helicopter jokes, these jokes become incredibly unfunny, because they just no longer make any sense. Anyway, that other comic is basically dead now anyway, no update since years. Which is good for me, of course. :D I fully believe transphobia is no better than homophobia, racism, antisemitism, xenophobia, … I used to think of such anti-trans jokes to be great fun as well, until I actually obtained information from actual science rather than random YouTube pundits.

Oh, and I improved the website today. There's an OFFICIAL German version now („Nasenohren“), even with 1 language-exclusive comic (comic #67). Something that other comic will probably never have. :P
And I finally made the RSS feed work. Kinda. It seems you can't really embed images in RSS in a non-awkward way. Maybe I'll switch to Atom feeds one day, which are probably better anyway.

Yeah, as for GNU, I'm claiming fair use, as it's satire. :P Probably going to write a detailed extra page anyway, just in case …

EDIT:
Ohhhhhhhhh, I remember now: Drummy, you're the one "nice" fellow who believes that LGBT is not an identity, but “political”, that it is "pseudo left”, (as if merely being gay, bi, trans, etc. makes you "The Left(TM)") and a movement that is going to gain power with force and fear and that it's about a fight of gays vs straights rather than equal rights, that Pride is actually a demonstration of power, etc. etc. while simultanously claiming that is somehow still anarchist … In other words, one of the dumbest takes on LGBT I've read in a long time. Now that explained why you liked those anti-trans comics, you're anti-LGBT. Well … How exactly anti-LGBT positions, something commonly associated with authotaritan regimes like Russia, go together with anarchism, that is completely beyond me! Even more hilarious is your anti-antifa stance (as an anarchist!), but that's a different story. But yeah, at least you have some "hot" takes. How brave. But you know what they say: They laughed at Galileo. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown... People like you are exactly why I made this comic.

Hey, I finally managed to make images in RSS feeds work. Now you can see the comics directly in the RSS feed.

I'm also half-way done with transscribing all the comics in case you can't view images.

Anyway, I think Nose Ears is here to stay. I still have SO many topics, ideas, jokes, etc. I want to cover.

Yes, I think so true. I don't agree on every of your comic's message, but they are all clever and interesting, and most importantly funny! I think (and hope) it's really there to stay! :)

Greetings
