I don't have time to contribute but I have an idea on how you can make the lava sound. I suggest submerging dry ice in water and recording the sound. You can also heat up a pan and throw water on it. If you combine the sounds it should give you something lava sounding.

Nice ideas I will try the one with the frying pan as I do not have access to dry ice :) If anyone else will give it a try then be CAREFUL as both procedures are a bit dangerous. (EDIT I did not see that the frying pan did not already contain oil, because then one should be careful)

Oh yeah good idea, let some oil burn in the pan, pour some water into it and then record your burning house. :D

More sounds:

Fire/fireball (I wanna see some flamethrower dwarves in the game. *hehe*)
Arrows
Eating

Ok, although I think a fireball should be for some sort of wizard, I do not think that we want techno-dwarves :), but the constructs could maybe have a creature with a flamethrower, else a dragon has a built in flamethrower, we can also use the sound for that :)

Actually flamethrowers existed already in the Middle Ages. Have you ever heard of Greek fire? I think flamers would be good special weapons for dwarves, because they have a talent for technical stuff.

Would be nice with a more comprehensive list, so i'll start: (May want to put this on wiki though)

Global
    Interface sounds
      Button clicks
      Room creation
      Dig selection
Gold/item dropping/picking up (if we are going to have this
"Keeper sounds" (e.g "Not enough gold", "Creatures are under attack" etc) Could be alignment dependent
    Room sounds
Enviroment sounds - lava, water etc.
    Rock falling
    Walls getting hit

Creature-specific
    Attack sound (from creature itself)
    Unarmed weapon sound
    Arrow sounds?
    Getting hit
    Random sounds (like in DK)
    Pickup/Drop sound
    Eating/room interraction
    Digging (only for some creatures)

Trap sounds
    Trigger
    Attack

Spell sounds
    When we have spells

Not sure if walking sounds should be creature-specific or not. Some creature sounds could probably be shared between some types.

There is a page on the wiki here for audio samples, I think there are things in both lists that are not in the other so someone should try to merge them together. I think we can discuss the ideas about the sound system and what kinds of things we want to do with it here but we should maintain the list over on the wiki so everyone can contribute more easily.

Updated the list on the wiki with more stuff, but there are probably more things missing.

There are some zombie sounds on Open Game Art that are pretty decent. Maybe something we could use. The same user that posted that has also posted some other sound packs, looks like they are sounds for Battle for Wesnoth. There are also some other wesnoth sounds here.

Seems useable, also compatible license CC-BY 3.0 :) Maybe we can use the for the Ghoul or Zombie.
