Skeleton model

Skeleton model

Postby Danimal » 07 Mar 2013, 20:26

Hi guys, i have searched OGA and blendswap for a low-poly skeleton but didnt find any good enought, or too high poly or strange proportions or idiotic skulls. So i picked the best low poli skeleton, corrected proportions and transplanted a good skull. See pic. Now is time to make it look deadly, i like Clint Bellanger´s one armor and weapon wise (which i can directly reuse), but i want your opinion if it should have more armor or details:

Looks cool, only the feet and maybe the hands (can you change the lighting/shading?) could be a bit more detailed. Some armor parts or clothing would be nice.

You are right the hands and feet are simple, for that reason i will him some gaunlets and tattered boots, the armor and sword from clints model, and add pieces of rusted chainmail armor here and there. Will show you the wip later, normals will have to wait this time, since my graphics card died and im working on a very low power one (doesnt even need fan refrigeration :P)

New pics, I think the mesh is finished, i cant decide between giving it two gaunlets and boots or leaving it as the pic shows. Also the sword is cool (Clint´s work), but maybe it would be better to save it for a higher level undead, it kinds of break the "run down and tattered" feeling i wanted.

I think 2 boots and 1 gauntlet would look best.

Have you though about doing the ribcage as an alpha-mapped texture instead? Seems like an aweful waste of polys.

Otherwise pretty nice model so far!

Thanks Julius, i think ill leave the ribs like that, its not that many polis as to affect performance and the effect at close range is way better than an alpha map, and im crossing my fingers so OD gets a FPS view in the future
