Torture room ideas

I didn't know where to put this, so I'll make a new thread of this.

The torture room... everybody's favorite. Drop a creature in it and watch it suffer until it succumbs. It'll either die and expose some map information or it'll convert to your cause, having the creature turned against its friends to fight for your cause.

So, keepers. We have several factions each out to cause each other untold suffering, while others seek to end the suffering in this world only to cause more suffering... doesn't that put a smile on your face, dear keepers?

While the original dungeon keeper had a simple torture chamber to convert a multitude of creatures to your cause, in OpenDungeons there are several factions available to the players. Each having its own reason to cause suffering. So, each faction should have its own unique "torture chamber".

So, what should they look like? Here are some suggestions.
  • The Humans
In this torture chamber the creatures receive no food and are secured to a chair all the while be chanted to be the pious monks, who wish nothing more then to save the hapless creature. The creature will either die and be saved, or be converted to your cause in order to save its sorry hide.
  • The undead
Hapless creatures are put inside a haunted room, in which angry spirits try to drive them mad. A ghost will tell the torture victim stories of untold suffering all the while the torture victim is chained to the wall. There are options present for the torture victim to commit suicide and he eventually will, unless some spirirt gets enough time to posses him (eyes and mouth lits up, or something like that)... hhhmmmm... a wonderful means to cause suffering, don't you think keepers?
  • The mechanoids
This torture chamber is exquisite in its mechanical inventiveness. The torture victim gets mechanical parts added to it. The creature suffers untold horrors and eventually dies, or comes under the control of the mechanical attachments added to it (changes sprite).

What do you think of these ideas? I could expand or change the list if needed.

Very good suggestion.
For the mechanoids, maybe changing the whole sprite (did you mean model or texture here? The creatures are 3d-models and not sprites.) is a bit drastic. The texture could be altered, or they could get some spikes or swirly stuff on them.

Good ideas xahodo. By the way they are not called Mechanoids but "Constructs". I like the mindcontrol like idea for the Constructs. Another spin to it could be to attach clamps to the creatures limps and then its body is under the Constructs control, but its mind is not.

New torture room idea: the labyrinth.

In this room the walls constantly move around and the minotaur wanders around in it, scaring the victim until the minotaur finds the creature and kills it, or the desperate creature chooses to convert to your cause in order to be allowed to leave.

The new creature is the minotaur: part man part bull this cursed creature's only purpose left is to kill. So, it needs to be kept separately from all other creatures, for it'll (try to) kill them. It feeds by eating your prisoners. If it doesn't get a prisoner once in a while, it'll go get some food from your farm.
