Skorpio i want your opinion

Postby Danimal » 29 Jun 2011, 19:39

Hello Skorpio, i have been working on this for some time now, and i wanted the opinion of a more experienced modeller(everyone else also admited). What do you think of it? Should something be changed?

Looks pretty good, what is it for? It would be easier to see the details if you smoothed it with some sort of filter (I do not remember the exact term for it, but it makes the edges less visible).

Looks very nice, I think it reminds me of some transformer or something else. :) Only the feet seem to be a bit short and clunky and the elbows are too big for my taste. Did you know that the foot of a human is as long as the lower arm? And Svenskmand is right, all faces should be smooth shaded (click on Set Smooth) and edges that should be sharp must be marked with Ctrl-E -> Mark Sharp. Then you can add an Edge Split modifier and the edges will be sharp. And the hand/claw needs some more work.

I cant believe i forgot the set smooth button, looks quite more nice that way. This is not intended for anything, is more like an experiment to learn the basics of human form modelling, skinning complex forms and maybe learn how to do normal and specular maps. I tried to it to look like a W40k space marine, but ended more like a transformer...

Unwrapping a model is the most annoying part. Try to search for some videos. On blendercookie are some good ones.

You mean 2.5 and 2.49, I think.
