The OD multiplayer game scheduling thread

Hi there,

We need to play OD a bit more to make sure that it's actually fun! So I propose to use this thread to schedule multiplayer games, so that we can be at least 2 or 3 to play test recent development snapshots (and if we're more than 4, then I will design a new map that supports more than 4 players ;)).

We are nearing the 0.5.0 milestone, and playing the game in multiplayer is even part of the planned features :p : https://github.com/OpenDungeons/OpenDungeons/issues/418

alket (a Megaglest contributor lurking in the #opendungeons channel) and I are planning to play a bit this week-end, and it would be great to have some of you join us. We will a priori play the most recent development version from GitHub (development branch) available at that time. If Danimal, eugeneloza or any other interesting Windows user wants to play, I'll try to force hwoarangmy or Bertram into making a Win32 development build :)

Who's in, and what time would be fitting for you?

If you can do some games, please don't hesitate to give some feedback :)

And if you see a bug, please try to keep replay & logs

Won't you play with us? ;-)

You even created a Win32 snapshot that you can use to play without having to stash your local commits :-p

The problem is that with babies, that's not that easy to schedule a lan ^^
But if a lan is planned, I will try to come.

BTW, if you go for a lan, I've released a new dev version:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/opendun ... p/download

It would be better to use it since there have been many changes around multiplayer for the standalone server.

Yep I'll cook up a Linux binary release soon.

Hi there,

OD 0.6.0 RC2 is there, and what's left now is to play some multiplayer games to test the beast! Sadly I couldn't upload Linux binaries for it yet due to limited bandwidth, but the beast is relatively easy to compile if your distro has OGRE 1.9 and CEGUI 0.8.x :)

So should we schedule a multiplayer game? Sometime during the week-end maybe?

I think we should if everybody can, even if I haven't seen Hwoarangmy's comment or activity lately. I hope he'll read that message. :)

Sorry, I came back yesterday night only. Could you have a game ?

We did not play in the end, but maybe we could manage this week-end? If we don't spot big issues during playtesting, IMO we could release the current version (including Bertram's fix for scrollable settings window).

I'll try to be there the coming WE. :)
Btw, could you try the settings windows with DirectX hwoarangmy? :)

Have it changed since we moved the buttons ? If not, yes, I've tested. If it did, no, I didn't ^^

Bertram {l Wrote}:Btw, could you try the settings windows with DirectX hwoarangmy? :)
I confirm it works. The slider is not perfect (it touches the parent window on its top but ot on its bottom) but it works well. That's cool and we should use it on most of our windows.

@Akien note that if you want to try, you can easily decrease the size of the settings window so that even the OpenGL settings do not fit.
