Is the Issue tracker dead?

Postby Bertram » 28 Jul 2014, 08:51

Hi there,

I can no more open the trac issue tracker. Has it been removed or something?

Lol:

viewtopic.php?f=41&t=3254

Now I think people knew after all. Since I didn't use sourceforge very much, I missed that the whole time.

Thanks for hinting me, charlie.

This was so long ago that I completely forgot about it when I got emails about people editing things on trac. But yea, it's gone. I backed up the data back then though, not sure if it's useful for anything.

Hi Oln,

The issues there weren't very essential, but if you could give me the list of active issue titles/summaries, I could move all to the todo list in the wait on the possible move to github, for instance, or the next actual issue tracker.
I'll take the task to refill issues description which needed a good cleanup anyway.

Thanks!

Hi again,

I've added all the issue I could find, taken from memory and from the todo list:
https://github.com/OpenDungeons/OpenDungeons/issues

Also, I have created a task list specific to what may be the next official release:
https://github.com/OpenDungeons/OpenDun ... ones/0.4.9
https://github.com/OpenDungeons/OpenDungeons/issues/9

@Elvano, @Danimal:
Could you tell me guys whether this is in sync with the vision you had for a next release, and in sync with this?
http://opendungeons.sourceforge.net/wik ... =tech_demo

Feel free to tell what could be wrong. The plan is to get rid of the todo list(s) and use the tracker only for milestone planning.

Once I've received oln's issues list, I'll add what's relevant there.

I've tried sending the tracker dump a few times now, are you sure you haven't gotten it yet?

im still reading tru it, you sure did some work :)
The next release has some very sensible goals, lets hope they are meet by this year ;),

EDIT: The only small thing i can add is to make the training hall add experience to creatures, mining does as i can see by making any creature dig, cant the code be copy-pasted? :cool: (and this makes me think about how xp to level up is handled, sigh... better not to think too much, its bad for your sanity)

@oln:
Yep, I added one missing issue I forgot about. Thanks!
What is your github account's name already?

@Danimal:
Thanks. :) If the goals aren't sensible, we can always discuss what to remove, so I don't worry too much. ;)

Fixed in: https://github.com/OpenDungeons/OpenDun ... 3e3e6e0ec5

I'd say that now, creatures are earning levels way too fast, but that's something we'll discuss with the next rolling release, I guess.

Sorry for the spam.
As for things to fix before release, I'd gladly add support to make walls look better like I did for ground tiles but I'd need either new textures for claimed walls and/or new models. Do you think something simple could be made about that?

Np. :) You didn't know.

As for walls, IIRC, we spoke about making only some part of it colored, as it is now done on the latest git version for ground tiles.

More explicitely, the claimed ground tiles have got a texture with a "hole" on the center (shaped like arrows), thus I added a white texture below that one
that I made colored according to the current claiming team.

I wondered whether you would be ok to use the same technique for walls, making "holes" on the wall texture in a sane way, so that when I color the texture below,
it look nice even when colored.

Doesnt looks hard, almost copy-paste from one texture to another, or is it a different kind of "star" better?

Hopefully it isn't. The same star is ok to me as long as it is looking fine when colored. I you can give me a sample texture still looking fine on the current wall models, I'll integrate it for the next rolling release. ;)
