Creatures to be used, current state - Help appreciated

with this i have a mostly working motion capture library, so new models will only need rigging and fixing of any posible error. It will speed up getting new characters (only human though) by a lot :D .

http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/77143

It would need work but i think is a good dragon replacemment if license allows

The first three ones are great looking!!

The third one could be a campaign hero imho, dubbed with eugeneloza's voice, it would be fearsome. ;D

As for the dragon, IMHO, it is fun but doesn't fit. At least not in the base game.
Maybe a nuclear mod of some sort? :)

Was trying to make an animated fish yesterday... and came up with an idea, if some water-only creatures (piranhas, octopods, cave sharks, etc.) may be used? As neutral faction.

Hey, wouldn't this be a cool addition, for instance when spawning something out of the crypt?

Both are way too high-poly I think.
Edit: sorry was referring to some spiders posted on page 1.

Some of the aliens from Unvanquished would probably make for good spiders/monsters in OD:
https://www.unvanquished.net/

Btw: another chicken to mix thing us: http://opengameart.org/content/chicken-animated

Edit: what about this one: http://opengameart.org/content/lowpoly- ... ula-spider (seems much more low poly).

For the heroes side of things, how about cooperating with RogerDv's Key of the World projects? Just PM him on these boards.
Some samples they have already uploaded:

Thanks for the links. The chicken seems pretty nice and different from our current one enough to allow using both ^^
Concerning the spider, we already have one quite nice. I've also had a look at unvanquished and from what we can see in the screenshots on their website, creatures seem a bit the extraterrestrial to me. We will see what others will find, especially our artists

Concerning the heroes, it seems pretty nice. From what I undestrood, we can exchange parts of the body to equip the hero. I will let our artists decide if there is a use for us or if it is too complex.

I think the current spider is good enougth, im not opposed to add a new chicken for variety shake either, regarding unvanquised they are total jerks, i tried before, they are as open as, "yes, you can use our models if you are able to retro enginer them from our unique file type", they dont have an open repo and refuse to share sources, the only open thing in that project is code.
I have had my eyes on that customizable hero for a while, but im kinda time limited these days and need to focus on just aspect of the game, we need more active artists.

They (Unvanquished) use .iqm, no? That is a well documented format available in many engines, and last time I tried, it even imported into Blender relatively well.
File format specs.: http://sauerbraten.org/iqm/
Blender importer: https://github.com/ccxvii/asstools
The sources are most likely 3DMax or Maya etc. files anyways and thus or relatively little use.
