Website Sneak Peak

Hi Elvano, :)

Sorry to add on top of the TODO list, but just in case:
- Would you consider adding a media page with the videos and images of the game?
- Also, putting some images of the game on the main page would make it all more attractive.

I know this is all obvious but I just wanted to say it looks important, at least to me. :)

Best regards,

Hey Elvano, what plans do you have for the graphics on the website? Do you have any concepts yet?

I do, Skorpio. But non yet showable.
Don't worry, I wasn't planning on leaving it as it is.
However, for the time being we'll be using the most possible default theme (which is actually awsome, but not so very much suitable for OD)

I'll be sure to keep you informed about progress
So you can have your say before it actually gets deployed (as default)

Hi Elvano,

Is it possible to modify a page on the website? I'd like to fix the FAQ and the code style pages format little by little to make those more sexy. ;)

EDIT: I would like also to add the famous detailed how to build on Windows (and on linux) there, and team code handling policy I've put on the forums:
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=5363&p=55040#p55040

@ Bertram: There you are, you can now edit the pages. Perhaps it's a good idea to put the build information on the download page? ;o

Thanks Elvano,

The FAQ should be better now. I'll work on the code style guideline little by little.
Btw, it seems we don't have an actual way to add font colors and monospaced font there. Is this easy to add?
EDIT: Or a code block, just like in this forum?

Also could you move the navigation menus to the left? Atm, they are mixed with the current page content and it's confusing.

Thanks and best regards,

Can you remove the login frame at the top of Home Page :
User login

Request new password

Could you restore all screenshots that were there ?
Could you restore the >>Videos<< section ?

I can not remove the login frame, as people are using it.
I did however move it out of the way of the page's content.

Screenshots can be added by any contributor.
If this is not the case, please notify me.

as for the videos... I'm currently trying to get this media content type working in my test environment. But somehow it doesn't like OD's youtube videos.
But I'll get there.

Are those videos are Embeddable :

http://www.dailymotion.com/user/paul4241/1

This site is too basic , for what feedback I tried to get in #gamedev the game does not look attractive people to join in.
How about old content -- that is pictures and Videos , is it accessible or it's deleted for good ? We could at least provide history in pictures how the game eveloved .

Sorry I haven't replied in a while, Bertram.
I'm having problems staying logged on on this forum long enough to post (at the training centrum)

I'm currently working on an automated backup so I can ensure any information posted will be atleast backed up.
But I've been bothered by a combination of sickness and allergy so I'm way behind on my scedule.
When I got the backup system working I'll beproviding acces to store the information.

P.S. Bertram, you have 666 posts D;

It's great news!! :)

Could you make it so one doesn't need to login to read the wiki pages?

You shouldn't be logged in to read (if the page exists) as far as I know o-o

Hi Elvano,

Without logging in, when I click the story page for instance, I've got this:

No ACL setup yet! Denying access to everyone.

Permission Denied

Sorry, you don't have enough rights to continue. Perhaps you forgot to login?

The page did not exist yet either =p
But I just made it (just a title) gave everyone read rights on all pages.
Now everything should work fine

Danimal {l Wrote}:I filled story, but would like to create pages for:

There are 2 ways of doing this:
  1. Go to http://opendungeons.sourceforge.net/wik ... _your_page (use "_" instead of spaces in the name)
  2. Edit the start page (or any other page you wich to link from) and add a link to the new page . (It will appear red if it doesn't exist yet) then just click it and you'll be able to create it.
Take notice that the second methode is best practise as users will be actually able to get to the page. Unless you do not want them to be able to.

Hi Elvano, :)

I've added the compile guidelines + team code guidelines pages in the wiki along with a few other tweaks. Feel free to fix anything you find not fitting.

Also, I'd requested once this is done that the code guidelines are removed from the main website pages.

Last but not least, the dark theme of doku wiki is preventing from seeing certain statements in the c++ code blocks. could you change it to a more fitting one?

Thanks and best regards,
