About Paul G Webster's message

Postby Bertram » 14 Nov 2013, 10:13

Hi there,

I received a mail from Paul G Webster today, asking me to take contact with him by IRC sometimes.

As the mail was sent through the forums, I can't answer there, that's why I'm replying here. I hope he'll get the answer:

Hi Paul,

Thanks for you interest for the project compilation :)

If you have any questions regarding the compilation process on Windows, feel free to post it here and I'll try to answer.
Note also that I'm still in the process of bringing an installer for the development branch tip version to make sure I made the thing fine.

Atm, I've got a binary running with all the dependencies needed and no dependencies problems. (Hurray!)
Yet, I've noticed the binary doesn't seem to do anything at startup atm (and I bet it's coming from some missing files, bad config, ...), so I need to make more
tests and fixes before saying it's done, and moving onto the installer creation process.

Best regards,

Hi Bertram. You should be able to respond to a forum PM by replying to the email that was sent to you. It basically emails him back (his email address may even be set as the reply to).

Hi Charlie,

I used a webmail so it might no show everything concerning the sender.
Yet, the reply address was the daemon email: ghoulsblade@schattenkind.net

I'll try mailing back the next time.

Also Bertram, if you know who the user is [it should say so in the email sent out] you can use the email function here too.

Here's an example that I received. You can see the username featured twice (in bold).

Hi Charlie,

As the username was daemon, I had a doubt on whether this was a user or an actual mail daemon.
Funny, isn't it. thanks for the precision.
