New Panda3D version released

Hey Julius, maybe you want to add Panda3D to your recent blog post? The new features look really great.

Oh btw, the scripting language of the Godot engine, GDScript, is not another version of Python, but heavily inspired by Python and also Lua.

Yeah, next time I will cover advances in 3D engines ;)

You might be right about GDscript, but I have also read it being described as a simplified Python several times.

Quite honestly, if you want to make a 3D game, Godot is probably not the best choice right now... that's why I focused on the 2D part, which is shaping up very nicely right now.

IMO Godot is well suited to do a 3D platformer like Super Mario 64 and the like. But if people are going for the next-gen FPS, it's probably not the best solution indeed :)
