OpenGL ES and Sizedown

OpenGL ES and Sizedown

Postby blueSpirit » 09 Nov 2014, 00:41

Hello,

I think about using SuperTuxKart as an easteregg in our measurement handheld (TI DM814x) and currently our rootfs has a size of 50 Mb, so I have to size down STK heavily. If I keep only the smallest track with two karts and remove the audio and all menu-stuff, to which size do you guess I can shrink the final package?

I ve already read some postings regarding OpenGL ES. There is some beta-irrlicht branch, some reported that glshim could work and I found the pandora-image of ptitSeb (but not his sources yet). Do you know how to port SuperTuxKart to a OpenES 1.0/1.1/2.0 system best - or where to find the sources of ppl who already ported it?

Thanks in advance,
Charly

I think SuperTuxKart is too heavy for OpenGL ES. I recommend Extreme Tux Racer because it had a (GPL-violated) port for Android which demonstrated it is not hard to port to OpenGL ES.
