Has anyone have time to look at iodoom3 or idtech4 code drop? I was wondering what is the state of that thing.

The best bet for updates on this is probably the Doom3 source-code forums over at Doom3world (registration required to see these sub-forums).

Very detailed source-code review for Doom3... so if you are a programmer and want to start developing with idtech4 this is probably what you want to read first ;)

The most developed Doom3 port I could find was called 'dhewm3' -- it compiled fine here (Debian Linux) and while it did run, there were rendering issues (e.g. lighting on models), which I guess is mostly likely because of my very old hardware (GF2MX400) not being detected properly or because he removed support for hardware this old.

The "io" guys seemed to have done nothing, especially this year -- unless I'm looking in the wrong place, and I looked pretty hard, but maybe their development is very well hidden :p

A Google search for 'dhwem3' turned up nothing relevant. Do you have a link perhaps?
