Hi all I'm facing a problem logging and entering the lobby and I hoped you can help me.

First of all I'm doing anything illegal or forbidden! although I'm behind a highly restricted network. I have both a http proxy and a socks4, 5 proxies

my problem is simple. My OS is Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala and I'm running latest version of the client tunnelling it's data using proxychains. After logging in the client cannot enter the lobby for some reason it attempts to connect severally then just write 'cannot connect'. I can't figure this out since proxychains didn't show me anything about what addresses the client is trying to connect to. All settings and proxies are available but still I can't enter the lobby.

any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

On a highly-restricted network, it might be that UDP ports are blocked.

Since you can log in to the master, but not to the lobby, that seems possible here - since UDP is used for the lobby, but not for the master (the master uses just normal HTTP on TCP).

Can you run other UDP-based networked games? (like, say, Sauerbraten?)
