Planet for Revision Control?

Re: Planet for Revision Control?

Can we have it in the link bar at the top of the page? I think it's definitely useful enough. Makes stalking projects a lot easier. :p

Could you put up some links on the page itself, especially to the planet and the dev planet and also put links on the planets to the rev planet?

Thanks.

Right at the moment, the list of available projects is beneath list of updates.

If you think, it is worth the efforts, you could change this and i could create a logo, if the svg of the dev planet is available somewhere. (I didn't neither found it in the wiki nor OGA)

I like it this way. I don't see the appeal of putting the list of project first at all. Convince me. :)

We might want to put links to the logos somewhere.. any ideas where would be good spots?

At the bottom of the first post of viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1021 you will find how to get the svg files.

Well, you could put the list of repository to the left of the list of recent changes and seperate them with a vertical line. This way it would look somewhat like the other planets.

BTW: Which file is the fitting svg-file?
I am only able to find some feed-logos and some experimental logos.
EDIT: Only found it on picasa, but there is no svg.

I don't see the use. Its function is very different from the other planets.

It's a matter of convinience and optical matter, you really don't want to scroll down all the long list, only to see another long list.
Actually there are two solutions:
a) Create two independent lists beside each other or
b) convert the second list into a footer which covers the complete width of the page.

What do you need the list for? I imagine it's only useful for people who want to add a feed to check whether it is already added or not.

About the logo: the revision planet is extremely different in function compared to dev/game planets. I don't see any need for having a similar look or identity.

OK. No fancy list, then.
About the logo: What does the recent logo with the connected dots show? Maybe, we can think of somethink in that direction..

I don't quite remember but the idea was something with each blue dot being a file and a red dot the file after a commit perhaps... Or each blue-gray-red construct was supposed to be the latest commit to each of the projects in the planet, mapped on a time line...

It is bigger and less minimal than the current one.

Being small and minimal fits the minimal rev planet.

What do you dislike about the current logo?

added. I hope it will update, it seems you have to use some kind of script and that the automatic methods are deprecated.

I made a favicon you can use on your blog too for example: http://planetrev.freegamedev.net/images/farc.png

I'll do a SVN commit tonight after my job, perhaps it need a new commit now

the post commit URL (http://cia.vc/deliver/FAR%20Colony/) link to a page not found, not a good sign
