[solved (REALLY!)] Spam, spam, spam

Not enjoying moderating all the spam.

It seems first post moderation is not stopping accounts repeatedly post spam.

But it does prevent the spam from appearing on the forums.

I admin-delete accounts that post spam.

nothing helps against human spammers i guess. awkward that people would rather be paid to spam here than to contribute. worrying indeed.

Perhaps, in bold and big text, add a sentence like this to the registration page:

We aggressively delete spam - both posts and user accounts. Please save your time and ours if you are registering only to spam.

Something that has helped me a lot on my game's forum is to simply authorise all new accounts myself. I check them on www.stopforumspam.com before approving. Seems to have reduced my forum's spam to zero so far.

Some spammer just wrote a post, which contained nothing but one sentence from a previous post in the thread. No spam in signature, google-ing email address did not show any spam.

Moderators: beware! If the post message doesn't seem to make sense at first read, check if it fits into the context of the thread.

Hello qubodup,

qubodup {l Wrote}:Moderators: beware! If the post message doesn't seem to make sense at first read, check if it fits into the context of the thread.

This is exactly how I determine if a comment on the PagesOfAdventure blog is spam or not.
The first thing is to check email-address and website then I check the content.

I had some like:
Spammer {l Wrote}:This is a great blog! I too like expressing my emotions.

It was clear to me that this was spam, I don't express my emotions on a development blog and the website was linking to some sort of movie promoting site?
Spammer {l Wrote}:Keep up the good work!

This one was difficult to decide if it was spam.
The website and email-address seemed possible but when I saw I answered at a older post I decide to mark it spam.

Just wanted to share some experiences! :)
From,
